MONEY MANAGEMENT
WHY BIBLICAL MONEY MANAGEMENT?
God's Financial Principles Can Help Us Gain Control
Money affects every aspect of our lives, and God’s financial principles can help us gain control and find peace of mind. Many of us are unfortunately living paycheck to paycheck. We are worrying about paying for unexpected car repairs, medical bills, and the increasing amount of debt we find ourselves accumulating. Financial stability is an area that many of us struggle with including Christians so there is no surprise that the Bible has a lot to say about money. In fact, the Bible has more than 2,000 scriptures on money so God knew this would be an issue for us. God does not call us to do something without equipping us to do it. We want to help you become good stewards of the money God has entrusted to you by sharing with you His principles on money.
Our Program Focus.
1. Faith & Finance
Why is it that we have a difficult time coming under God's authority when it comes to money? We don’t consult Him because we are afraid that He might say give it all away to charity. For most of us, we cannot submit our money to God because we lack faith. We do not trust God to manage our money or provide for us. Once you begin to trust God, you will experience victory over your money management.
2. Steps to Faithful Money Management.
Every step to freedom starts with God and money management is no different. Submitting your challenges to Him in prayer is the beginning. You need to put your confidence in God and not your finances. Next, you need to better understand how you got into financial trouble. You cannot figure out how to get out of a situation until you learn how you got into the situation in the first place. We will help you examine your attitude towards money and material possessions. Did we get into this situation because of a lack of or because we were trying to keep up with the Joneses?3. Creating a Spending Plan.
"Budgeting helps us avoid impulsive and unnecessary spending, live within our means, and prepare for future needs,” explains Bill Gustafson, senior director of the Center for Financial Responsibility at Texas Tech University. “If we don’t carefully plan our finances and direct them where to go, we will one day find ourselves broke.”4. Reducing your Debt and Expenses.
Debt unfortunately is at the root of most people's problems and the debt originates because of us incurring expenses that we did not anticipate. Debt is sometimes created out of need. We are sometimes in need of something and using a credit card or taking out a loan is the only way we can afford it. These situations in the short term cannot be avoided however in the long run, we can plan for such occasions by managing our expenses and saving.MORE ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
